About

The Conference

The 1st DepEd National Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Conference, through the Planning Service - Policy Research and Development Division, is the agency’s largest M&E forum to date. Anchored to the Basic Education Development Plan (BEDP) 2030 and alongside the issuance of the Basic Education Monitoring and Evaluation Framework (BEMEF), the 1st National M&E Conference endeavors to further establish the use of results-based management through monitoring and evaluation (M&E) to inform decisions, policies, planning, and budgeting in the delivery of basic education services.

This will serve as a platform for dialogue on how the community of practice could fully support the implementation of the BEMEF. Moreover, the participants will have the chance to join breakout sessions on topics such as Establishing purpose and scope in M&E, Gathering the Right Information, Analyzing Data, and Communicating Findings.

The conference aims to:

a. Set the direction of DepEd’s M&E system;
b. For the participants to reflect on the current state and practices of M&E in the Department; and
c. Apply the principles and standards of M&E in the basic education governance.

Meet the Participants

The M&E Conference will gather all DepEd technical personnel involved in the M&E activities of their respective divisions/units. The event is expected to be attended by 600 participants composed of select staff from the Central Office bureaus and offices; the Quality Assurance Division (QAD) Chief and Education Program Supervisors from the 17 Regions; and the SGOD Chief and SEPS-SMME from the 228 Schools Division Offices.

Resource persons from various government agencies and organizations such as the Department of Education, National Economic Development Authority, Philippine Institute for Development Studies, UNICEF, Teach for the Philippines, Save the Children and Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute and many others will be sharing their valuable knowledge and expertise.
